A lifelong athlete, business owner, educator, and coach, Michael has built Get Burly on a foundation of passion for impact, family, and service, respect for the transformative power of travel, and a deep belief in overcoming adversity to unlock human potential.
After traveling the world with the Semester at Sea program, Michael joined Teach For America in Houston, TX, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education while working to close the achievement gap in underserved schools. These experiences, paired with his international perspective, ignited his calling to create meaningful change through leadership, teamwork, and personal growth.
Michael’s career path is a testament to versatility and grit. He has excelled as a Series 7 licensed internal wholesaler in real estate investment, a department chair and teacher, a business owner, keynote speaker, and an award-winning multi-sport coach. With more than 50 athletic seasons coached and extensive experience as a strength and conditioning coach, he has trained individuals from all backgrounds to achieve peak performance.
His relentless commitment to growth is reflected in his certifications: Spartan SGX Coach, SEALFIT Basic Training graduate, and the highly respected Unbeatable Mind Coaching Certification. He has also completed Yoga Teacher Training and the Bigger, Faster, Stronger clinic. Michael’s training—combined with his real-world leadership experience—forms the backbone of Get Burly’s transformative approach.
Today, Get Burly delivers high-impact Team Building and Leadership Development events for corporate groups, athletic teams, and educational institutions. These programs are designed to ignite purpose, strengthen resilience, and elevate collaboration so that teams leave united, empowered, and ready to achieve greatness together.
